WHAT ARE THE

ASSESSMENTS

We work with three assessments; the Online Career Planning Inventory (OCPI), Thinking Style, and Personality Questionnaire
which consists of:

Four primary sections namely: "field of interests," "work values," "personality," and "thinking style."

In these assessment, we go into great detail about what all of these parts mean within the life of the individual, and how it is important to helping you choose the right career field.

FIELD OF INTEREST

Interests are known to be the most important trait when choosing a career.

WORK VALUES

Your values are your private, personal, and individual belief system. Values add worth to certain situations and objects.

PERSONALITY STYLE

Our personality is the way in which we operate in the world, and don't change over time.

THINKING STYLE

Every person has a different and unique way of thinking, therefore your career needs to match the way in which you think.

FIELD OF INTEREST

Interests are known to be the most important trait when choosing a career.

It is very important to be able to enjoy the career you choose to go into, so it is also important for us to help you choose a career based on what you are interested in.

The assessment, OCPI, helps us with that. Within the assessment, we arrange 8 career areas in order of interest.

WORK VALUES

Values are also important in choosing your career field. Your values are your private, personal, and individual belief system. Values add worth to certain situations and objects.

For example, the work value of “Artistic Appreciation” requires that the individual's work environment must include their appreciation for beauty, by creating artistic creations and beauty in their work.

In the assessment, we arrange your top 8 work values from your bottom 8 work values, to give you a better understanding of what values should be included and what shouldn’t be included (the bottom 8 work values) in your work environment.

PERSONALITY STYLE

Personality also plays a role in choosing a career.

It is what distinguishes us from others.

Our personality is the way in which we operate in the world, and don't change over time.

We remain introverted or extroverted, as an example.

In the personality assessment, we can identify whether you are a “Thinker”, “Creator”, “Doer”, or “Giver”.

THINKING STYLE

Every person has a different and unique way of thinking, therefore it is also important that the career field you find yourself in matches the way in which you think.

Your thinking style differs from your personality in the fact that it can change in contrast to your personality, which cannot change. Personality and thinking style has some resemblance, however, in that they both affect relationships within and outside the work environment.

Within our “Thinking Style” assessment, we can identify whether you are an “In the box person”, “Out of the box person”, “Manual person”, or “Heart person”. With this information, we can better understand your way of thinking, and that can help us better identify which career you should go into.

I specialise in career guidance for students in high school. I have a degree in Pastoral Therapy (International Registered MLNP - Neuro Coach).

I believe students need to find a career that matches their way of thinking, their values, and their beliefs.

Burnout is a big problem in the work environment, so I aim to help students choose a career where they can work in the way that suits them, limiting burnout, and building up their confidence and enjoying what they do.

I have studied for the past 5 years in the field of Pastoral Therapy, and am presently busy with my Masters Degree in Career Counselling, and planning to complete my Doctrate the year after.

I have a passion for helping young people find their calling in life as well as a suitable work environment where they can flourish in what they do. I believe that students should not just choose a career field based on money, or on what others might tell them to do, rather I believe that students should find a career that matches their way of thinking, their values, and their beliefs.

As a Christian, my belief is that God wants to lead us in the right way, so it is important to me that everyone can choose a career in their life where they will be able to live out their calling, guided by God’s Spirit. I believe in holistic living, meaning that throughout your life I want you to live out who you genuinely are, mind, body, and soul, not living separately from your beliefs etc.

If you can live out who you are at work, just like you can live out who you are at home, not putting up a face, wouldn't that be great? That's what I am here to do.

THE REFUGE

Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

As we said before, we are a Christian company, and we believe that God has a plan for each of us. He is a refuge for everyone that turns to Him, just as Matthew 11:28-30 says: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

That is why our company is called: “The Refuge”.

It is our heart to teach students who they are in Christ and that they would pick up a calling in their lives where they can live out their faith, trusting in God for guidance, finding “refuge” in Him, and not the world, which spouts out lies and deceits.

For there is truly One who knows you better than you know yourself, and when you submit to Him, you will see that things will work out the way they are supposed to. Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

How long is each session?

The session takes about 30 minutes to an hour to finish (an hour will be booked for the appointment).

What is the cost per session?

The cost of the session is $120, which includes everything. Special pricing available for bulk bookings.

What is the process after booking?

You will be send the assessment vial email with step-by-step instructions. After completion of the assessment, I wil contact you to set up a zoom session or if possible, in person meeting to discuss the results.

Is it the same as any other career test?

Our assessments is more than a career aptitude test. It is a comprehensive tool that helps you uncover your unique interests, values, and thinking styles, and guides you towards a career that truly fits you.

Can the test be manipulated?

Our system is designed to provide accurate and reliable results, and cannot be manipulated because of the way questions are structured.
